5. Translate research into creative action. - 연구결과를 창의적 관점으로 본다.

In this data driven world, people sometimes get lost in the numbers and anecdotes. Data and precedent are important but at some point you just have to take action. Great problem solvers understand that if the solutions always existed in the past, then problems wouldn't occur to begin with. Get enough research to understand the issues and then engage your creativity to find new ways to better solve old issues.

 

세상은 데이터 중심으로 흘러간다. 하지만 사람들은 이런 데이터나 전례에서 길을 헤멘다.

데이터와 전례는 매우 효율적이지만, 때에 따라 다른 조치가 필요하다.

문제해결사는 과거에 솔루션이 이미 존재했다면 초기에는 문제가 없다는 것을 이해한다.

문제를 더 깊게 이해하고 새로운 방법을 찾도록 충분한 조사를 이어간다. 

6. Reverse Engineer. - 비선형 기술자

Many problems can't be solved in a linear manner. Great problem solvers have the vision to picture the ideal working scenario and then construct the methodology that will achieve the desired effect. Of course they also have to effectively articulate that vision to those who understand how to physically implement the solution.

 

많은 문제는 논리로만 이루어진 선형으로 해결 할 수 없다.

문제해결사는 이상적인 시나리오를 만든 후 효과를 얻을 수 있는 방법론을 구사하는 비전을 가지고 있다.

물론 함께 하는 사람들에게 그 비전을 효과적으로 전달해야 한다. 

7. Enlist open-minded people. - 열린 사람들을 모집한다.

When tackling a big problem many people just grab anyone available with two hands and a brain. Unfortunately, closed-minded team members can not only delay the solution, they may instigate a bigger problem than the one you are trying to solve. Great problem solvers know the best results come from groups of open-minded people. Your problem-solving team must be willing to get outside of the box and uncomfortable. Ultimately this approach will surface creative new solutions and processes.

 

큰 문제가 있을 경우 일을 같이 해보거나, 직접 문제가 해결 가능한 사람들을 찾는다.

불행하게도, 폐쇄적인 조직은 솔루션을 지연시키고, 오히려 문제를 부정적으로 만들어 낸다.

문제해결팀은 생각을 넘어서 불편한 상황을 해결하기 위해 직접 뛰어 든다.

궁극적으로 창의적이고 새로운 해결책과 프로세스를 만들어 낸다. 

8. Cast ego aside. - 자아를 버려야 한다다.

 

So often great solutions go by the wayside when problem solving, because the leader wants the solution to be his or her idea. Great problem solvers get joy from the problem being solved. They are happy to give the credit to anyone who can resolve the issue and move everyone forward. They have no concern because in business there are no shortage of new problems to solve.

 

리더가 자신이 원하는 문제해결 아이디어를 원하면 문제해결에 방해가 되는 경우가 많다. 

위대한 문제해결사는 자신의 아이디어가 아니라 해결에서 희열을 느낀다.

모든 사람을 발전시키는 효과를 주는 것이 행복함인 것이다.
